The Section is continually devising a programme of events by providing often unique opportunities for members to examine and study a variety of conservation issues and practises. If you know of any such occasions, if you think your workshop or project is worth a visit, please do not hesitate to contact us.

16 April 2004: Wood Machining Health and Safety Day Course
in conjunction with the London Metropolitan University (www.londonmet.ac.uk).
The programme included coverage of the Approved Codes of Practice for Workshops (ACOP) and PUWER recommendations.

6 March 2004: Section Annual General Meeting
at the Wallace Collection (www.the-wallace-collection.org.uk), London.
The morning programme included a lecture by Paul Tear on the conservation of gilt-bronze.

25 January 2003: Section Annual General Meeting
at the Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace (www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page555.asp).
The morning programme included an introduction on the gallery and the "Treasures" exhibition by David Wheeler, Royal Collection, and the paper "Make no bones; we used ivory" on the restoration of the ivory suite of Anglo/Indian seat furniture by Paul Briggs, Royal Collection.

13 - 14 December 2002: Visit to Amsterdam
The Sixth International Symposium on Wood and Furniture Conservation in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.

4 December 2002: Christmas party

preceded by an exclusive visit to the State Apartments and the furniture conservation-restoration facilities.

6 September 2002: Behind the ropes of the British Galleries
at the Victoria & Albert Museum (www.vam.ac.uk), London.
Visit to the new wing of the museum, the conservation departments and storage building.

26 April 2002: The Fifth David Harris Conference

8 March 2002: Section Annual General Meeting
