 Pilgrim Trust Conservation Awards 2004

THE STUDENT CONSERVATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

This Award highlights the achievements of students and the high standards of UK conservation training courses.

What is the Award for?
The Award is for the conservation project judged to be the best of those completed during training, between 1 March 2002 and 30 November 2003.

Who is eligible to apply?
Applications from students will be automatically considered in this category. Current students, 2001/02 graduates, or trainees or interns based at UK institutions are eligible to apply. Entries must be authorised and supported by course tutors or trainees’ supervisors.

Criteria for assessment for the Student Award

In considering applications, the Judging Panel will be looking for some or all of the following features:

  • Exemplary and innovative conservation work.

  • Effective communication of the work carried out.

  • A well-planned project.

  • Potential wider benefit of the work.

  • High quality of collaboration with others.

The Judging Panel will take into account that not every project will be able to demonstrate all these features.

Timetable and Judging
Entrants for the Student Award should submit their applications by 30 November 2003, using the form provided. These will be sifted and considered for short-listing by the Conservation Awards Student Screening Panel in January 2004.

Members of the Judging Panel will visit all the short-listed projects in the spring of 2004 in order to meet those involved and see the outcome of the projects at first hand.

  • The outcome of the project must be accessible to the public in the UK.

  • The project must be completed between 1 March 2002 and 30 November 2003.
