Introduction
The Stone and Wall Paintings Section represent about 200 hundred stone and wall painting conservators. The Section was formed as a specialist group within UKIC in 1998. Previously the sections operated separately from the early 1980's. The Section exists to represent conservators working in the stone & wall paintings disciplines. Regular meetings events and conferences are held for its members. The Section welcomes anyone with a serious interest in conservation.

The aims of the section are:

The section regularly hold meetings and publish articles of interest in Conservation News to educate, update and inform members in the development of stone and wall painting conservation.

The following events are planned for 98/99:

Alabaster Day 28th November
Site visit to Fauld mine in Staffordshire combined with a visit to Tutbury Church which has a very early alabaster carving and Victorian reredos.
