UKIC organises conferences, meetings, lectures and workshops on a regular basis each year relating to specialist areas of interest with the aims of:

  • Introducing new techniques to a wider audience.

  • Covering topics of common interest such as health and safety, ethics and environmental control.

  • Increasing awareness and educating non-specialists in conservation.

Amongst the topics covered to date are The Conservation of Lacquerwork and Japanning, Life after Death: the Conservation of Natural History Collections and Turner's Painting Techniques in Context.
