THE CONSERVATION REGISTER

Development Officer

The Conservation Register is the information source on conservation and restoration practices offering services to individuals and organisations, covering the United Kingdom and Ireland. It is run by the United Kingdom Institute for Conservation, in collaboration with Historic Scotland, and in partnership with the National Council for Conservation-Restoration.

The database was first created some ten years ago, and is now to be significantly developed, extensively promoted and made far more widely available. The aim is to confirm the Register as the primary information service on conservation-restoration expertise, and in due course of practices run solely by professionally accredited conservator-restorers. This three-year enhancement project is funded in principally by the Heritage Grant Fund of English Heritage, Resource and Historic Scotland.

We are seeking someone to take on the development of the Register. This is an important and exciting post, calling for a wide range of skills and an understanding of the conservation-restoration profession.

The starting salary for this three year fixed term post will be between £24,000 and £26,000. The intended starting date is 1st October. Details of the post are available from UKIC (020 7721 8721, [email protected],uk and on the website at the links listed below).
