Why should I register to be notified when a map update is available for my device or system?
On the roads of the world, change occurs. Roads, buildings, landmarks and other points of interest are always changing. At NAVTEQ, we’re continually updating our maps to reflect those changes. To make sure you’re always getting the most from your GPS navigation system or device, you should keep your map current. By registering for an update, we will notify you by email (or post if you specify) as soon as we know an update is available for your device or system.
Does NAVTEQ sell map updates?
NAVTEQ distributes map updates for many but not all systems. For those companies whose systems we do not distribute map updates through our web store, we may provide your information to them if you agreed in the registration.

In-Vehicle Navigation Systems Updates
Most in-vehicle map updates are available about once a year and are sold as CDs or DVDs that replace your current map.
Portable Devices Systems Updates
Most portable navigation system map updates are issued up to several times a year and can appear in many formats but often require that you connect your device to a computer. Contact your manufacturer for more details.
