Aanvankelijk gecreëerd om aan de veeleisende standaards van de auto-industrie te voldoen, maken NAVTEQ-data de exacte routeberekeningen en navigatie mogelijk, die nodig is voor effectief vlootbeheer. Complexe wegengeometrie op straatniveau, plus fijne details zoals adressen, uitritten en straatattributen ondersteunen de accuraatheid die kritisch is voor het optimaliseren van transport- en besteldienstvloot. - NAVTEQ Transport - het eerste product op de markt dat speciaal voor het commerciële wegtransport is ontwikkeld, met attributen zoals fysieke en legale beperkingen, waarschuwingstekens, gemarkeerde steile hellingen, scherpe bochten en zijwind
- Een pan-Europese dataset met meer dan 17.000 pompstations in meer dan 35 landen met informatie over, bijvoorbeeld, toegankelijkheid voor vrachtwagens, beschikbaarheid van HGV-pompen en stroomvoorziening, soorten brandstof en betaalmogelijkheden.
- Geïntegreerde navigatie - verbindt navigatie aan boord met backoffice IT-systemen en maakt communicatie in twee richtingen mogelijk. Ontworpen om de productiviteit te verhogen, transport- en communicatiekosten te reduceren en de kans op fouten of ongelukken te minimaliseren.
NAVTEQ's digitale kaart was de ook eerste die niet alleen in het traditionele GIS-dataformaat beschikbaar was, maar ook in Relational Database Format (RDF) voor directe integratie met Oracle, 10/11G, IBM DB2 en Microsoft SQLServer. Hierdoor is het direct toegankelijk via de spatiële extensies van Oracle, IBM en Microsoft databases en wordt de data-integratietijd drastisch verkort.
Case Studies
 Transvision - Lantmännen. Transvision helps Lantmännen reduce fleet costs, mileage and CO² emissions using its Fleet Planner software with NAVTEQ map data. Lantmännen needed advanced transport planning and optimisation to make its fleet of over 800 vehicles more efficient.
Cybit - Gilbarco Veeder-Root. Gilbarco Veeder-Root optimises mobile workforce deployment with Cybit fleet tracking and management system featuring NAVTEQ map data. Gilbarco Veeder-Root opted for Cybit Fleetstar-Online with the NAVTEQ map to help increase productivity and secure the company's position as a leading industry service provider in five European countries.
APC - Geoconcept. APC by Schneider Electric has chosen GeoConcept - a leading provider of cartographical optimization technologies for professional users - and the NAVTEQ® maps to equip its customer service department with a powerful scheduling tool. As a leading company in energy efficiency related services, APC by Schneider Electric (the combination of APC & MGE) must be able to provide customers with round-the-clock assistance without compromising on quality.
Paragon - Harrods. Paragon's automated route scheduling & optimisation solution, together with its Fleet Controller software and NAVTEQ street mapping, has sped up the famous London store 'Harrods' planning, improved its vehicle use, reduced courier costs and given it total control of its delivery service.
Magellan - Sodexho. La Normande, a subsidiary of the Sodexho group, produces and distributes ready-made meals to both private and public sector organizations. Sodexho's subsidiary La Normande uses NAVTEQ data in association with Magellan Ingenierie's routing optimization software to distribute hot and cold meals daily to its 560 clients.
ORTEC - Coca Cola Enterprises. The award winning Vehicle Routing and Dispatch software solutions from ORTEC, enhanced by accurate NAVTEQ data - saves Coca-Cola Enterprises $45 million a year by improving the effectiveness of its daily dispatch (planning efficient delivery routes, improving the accuracy for delivery, enabling the ability to make analytical decisions).
Descarte - Ocado. The Descartes Systems Group Inc. is a respected provider of logistics management technology. Descartes' leading logistics solutions drive operational efficiency, enhance customer service and improve purchasing precision for organizations in over 60 countries worldwide. The company offers 24/7 international customer support, has 35 reseller partnerships and offices and distributors throughout the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
ALK CoPilot. United Fleet Distribution, the UK’s leading ‘trade plate delivery’ company, has 250 drivers conducting 100,000 vehicle movements each year for large fleet owners. It wanted to find a mobile technology that could improve driver efficiency, streamline processes and reduce the reliance on paper for data collection and customer reporting. When UK company United Fleet Distribution integrated ALK Technologies’ CoPilot satellite navigation software with NAVTEQ® maps, into its driver mobility solution, its drivers’ productivity increased 33 per cent in six months.
