CONSERVATION ADVICE FOR THE PORTABLE ANTIQUITIES SCHEME
In consultation with the UKIC Archaeology Section, two works have been produced in support of the Portable Antiquities Scheme. The first is a “Guide to Conservation for Metal Detectorists,” by Richard Hobbs,
Celia Honeycombe and Sarah Watkins (2002). In addition, the York Archaeological Trust (YAT) has written Conservation Advice Notes which are now available on the PAS website ( www.finds.org.uk ) as well as printed form. The printed booklet will be sent to all Archaeology Section members. Further copies will be available, also free of charge, from PAS Finds Liason Officers (FLOs).
